WHERE WE WORK: Underserved Insulin-Requiring Diabetes Communities

Diabetes Empowerment International works in communities where insulin-requiring diabetes is frequently a death sentence due to a lack of healthcare access, diabetes education and economic empowerment.

WHO WE HELP: Adults

Diabetes Empowerment International assists adults because current aid provided to underserved insulin-requiring diabetes communities tends to focus on children. As children mature, they age out of services and little help is available to them.

HOW WE WORK: Educate and empower to thrive

We work to fill critical gaps in healthcare access, diabetes education and economic empowerment. We actively collaborate with global and local community partners. We evaluate our outcomes, to identify opportunities to complement each other’s work and tailor our programs to unmet local needs.  Through these combined efforts we enhance impact and empower adults living with insulin-requiring diabetes to thrive.

Diabetes Empowerment will provide funds in US dollars to assist individuals or organizations whose work is aligned with these mission and goals of general or project oriented support. Organizations are eligible to apply for funds toward any one of the goals listed above. Applications from individuals will be considered only for education and research grants.

Grants will be reviewed by the current Board of Directors and/or any designated individuals from our Partner organizations. Please note that Diabetes Empowerment reserves the right to request additional information at any time prior to a decision. In addition, in the event a grant is approved, Diabetes Empowerment also reserves the right to evaluate the use of the funds in the manner it deems most appropriate. Funding may be discontinued if it is determined that funds are not being used in keeping with the Diabetes Empowerment mission or the stated purpose of the grant as indicated on this application.
